Embrace

I wrote this song one night as I considered how effective we could be in the kingdom of God if we truly grasped early on that we were called to be God's agents, his earthly angels, maybe?  ...If we were steady witnesses and distributors of His love, His goodness, and His heart towards all men.. If maybe...we weren't so focused on ourselves...

If we didn't strive, or struggle to fit in any certain place, or rush to any specific end.. if only we were consumed with filling the spaces God's given us to fill in the way that He would have us to fill them... in the moments He's called us to... What would happen if we paid a little more attention? What would happen if we truly EMBRACED Christ in us, in every place, in every space?

What if we gave Him room to live and do through us? ...to speak through us more often than not?

How many more people would come to know Him?

What if we were surrendered?

2nd Corinthians 2:14

 

"But thanks be to God, who always leads us to triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place."

How incredible is it that you were in the mind of God long before you were born -- that you were in His genius grand plan to touch and influence a certain number of lives, in a very unique way..?

How incredible, that you are called to leave a sweet fragrance...

a trace of Christ's residue everywhere you were...

Build the wall in front of you.. Stone on top of stone. Brick on top of brick. What is that one thing you could do right now that would begin to make a difference in the lives of those around you? And what do you LIKE to do that benefits others?  It's simple... What relationship needs reconciliation? What child needs a mentor? Who needs a real hug and a listening ear? 

Some people bake. Some people teach. Some people nurture. Some people clean. Whether you're an actor, or a caretaker, a chef, or an athlete. You don't have slip into another lane.. you just embrace your space, Christ living in you.  Do something small. Do something big. Smile a little bit, and do it all for the glory of God.

Sometimes it's that next obvious step that will set you on a path towards the complete will of God for your life.

A a song of surrender... a prayer, a resolve.. Another way to say.. "If You're using anything, Lord, use me..." "Keep me alert... keep me open. I want to do well, whatever I do for You." Because I am called to leave a sweet aroma; because I am called to good works, because I am called to preserve and bring the light..
