"Dear Church Baby..." Part 4

My pastor has been teaching recently on the Word of God as a seed, ready to produce -  that God is a purposeful Sower.. sowing Himself into His children and His word into our hearts. We learned that our hearts are like soil, only capable of  producing if tilled well and ready for receiving.

Are our hearts fertile? Are they good ground?
Are we open for growth? Are we surrendered to the planting?

Dear Church Baby..
"To whom much is given, Much is required.."

Surrender your heart for the plow, and your mind for the cultivation of right thinking.
Surrender your life to maturity -- become that living epistle, a living testimony.
Surrender your love to the LOVE that has chased you down and worn you OUT..

God is Love.
Surrender to Him.

Life more abundant. Life in the light.
Blessed Assurance. Help from on High.
A charge to keep.. a God to glorify...
Eternal hope.
Hope fulfilled.
A peace that the world can't give.
Love.. Family. A Refuge for a Father...

Come on in, church baby..
Fix your eyes.

Ready them for the revelation of Jesus Christ. Ready them for the reason why you were born.

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.." (Ephesians 1:17-20)

To the wayward child and the one who got bored --  to the man who considers his sin "too much,"  to the woman who just feels that she no longer belongs... the kid who drags his feet on Sunday mornings...

"  ..It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit.." (Ephesians 1:11-13, MSG)

Come to Jesus... Come like a child.

There's more, I promise... there's SO much more.

------***------

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard....there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore." (Psalm 133:1-3)

Philippians 3:10: "My aim is to know him, to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings, and to be like him in his death..."

Psalm 25:14-15: "The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; He will show them His covenant. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only He will release my feet from the snare."

Ephesians 5:18-20: "... be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father"

Ephesians 4: 15-16:

"... speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love..."

"And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise."
Galatians 3: 29

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary."
Galatians 6:9

"One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."

Psalm 27:4

"And having a High Priest over the house of God,  let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,  not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, all the more as the day of His return is drawing near.
(Hebrews 10:21-25)

1 Corinthians 6:19-20: "…Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body."

"Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.…"

(Hebrews 10:35-36)
