My Eyes Are Watching God

There are battles that belong to the Lord... future victories, and then blessings that add NO sorrow, more victories.. There are seasons of ease and effortless flow -- and then, seasons where nothing comes easy.

 Absolutely Nothing.

But my eyes are watching God..

He's always leading us to triumph.

I'm convinced -  that the darkest hours are just before the day. I'm convinced that endurance, and commitment, good faith, not letting up, and not giving in counts for something.

I'm convinced that we don't have to be strong enough, wise enough, or "good enough"  to see what the end will be. I'm convinced we just have to know the One who is. That when its seems like things are on their way out of our control, it's because they were never under our control. That the only strength we need is strength in humility to stay on our knees - strength in perseverance, to maintain conversation, strength of trust to rest when He says so, and strength of heart to keep running in the right direction. I'm convinced that when all has been done on our end, on this side, it's really okay to just stand still and watch Him work.

And whether or not God will defend us in times of trouble is not the question, I've learned. He will. The question is whether we'll take the opportunity quiet our souls, and having done all, to stand. The question is whether it is ever in our immediate plan to be still and see His salvation.

My eyes are watching God.
He's not failed me yet.

Even in turbulence, some seasons are for the quiet. Even in chaos, some seasons are for the stillness.
Some seasons simply reinforce how we ought to live out our entire lives.

Eyes.. watching God.

Lesson --- being learned.

Watching God prepares us for tomorrow. Watching God keeps us for today. Watching God keeps things in perspective. Watching God remind us -- He's working. And it's not by our own power, or our own might, that anything is done, but by His spirit, and His grace, His mercies, His workings.

We are dependent.

It's in watching God that our strength is given sufficiency because it looks to Him to perform.
It's in watching God that we can safely conclude - "I can keep going...
He's with me.

Watching God - it's a lifetime sport. A fascinating one. And this race is not given to fastest, the best, or the most likely, but to the one who endures, to the one who allows God's grace to show up strong and make all the difference over time -- time after time. I'm learning to go boldly. I'm learning to steady my heart. I'm learning to watch for Him, to look for Him, and to trust His heart even when I can't trace His hand. I'm continually convinced that He does all things well, and for this reason alone...

My eyes are watching God.
